Our Solutions: Building a Unified Ecosystem for Student Success in South Africa

ElevatEd360 brings together student support, institutional innovation, and data-driven technology to transform higher education outcomes.

For years, Edukat and DUX worked on different sides of the same challenge: Edukat partnering with institutions, funders, and student success programmes to lead strategy, design integrated student success models, and drive data-driven, policy-aligned innovation, DUX working directly with students to deliver holistic development, strengthen academic and psychosocial resilience, and enable personal and professional growth.

Together, we realised something powerful — the solution wasn’t to work in silos, but to build one unified ecosystem that connects students, funders, institutions, and policymakers.

And so, ElevatEd360 was born.

#Imagine90 — a future where 90% of students not only graduate but step confidently into meaningful, sustainable careers.

The Impact in Action: Phenyo’s Story

To understand our impact, meet Phenyo, a student whose journey represents the future we’re building.

In a quiet village in South Africa, a young boy named Phenyo grows up with a fire in his heart and a dream in his eyes. He’s bright, curious, and full of potential, but like many in his community, opportunity feels distant, almost out of reach. His parents work hard to provide, but conversations about university and career paths are rare. The system around him wasn’t designed to make the journey from the classroom to the workplace simple and for most young South Africans, the road ends long before the destination.

Today, only 30% of students who enter higher education in South Africa ever graduate. Phenyo could easily have become part of that statistic.

But imagine something different.

Imagine 90.

Imagine Phenyo being supported from the very beginning, guided through his subject choices, mentored as he prepares for matric, and connected to opportunities that fit his passions and strengths. When he submits his first university application, it’s through one seamless platform, a single application that opens doors to funding, universities, accommodation, and wraparound support.

His data, from his school performance to his household circumstances, is integrated through a connected national ecosystem. Instead of forms and queues, systems talk to each other. Through ElevatEd360, funders, universities, and government departments collaborate to ensure no student falls through the cracks.

When Phenyo’s matric results come in, he doesn’t need to fetch them. They’re automatically shared with partner institutions and funders. Within days, he receives confirmation:

He packs his bags and heads to a city he’s only ever seen on TV.

He arrives on time, with everything in place. Ready to begin.

But access is only the beginning. Through ElevatEd360’s wraparound model, Phenyo is supported every step of the way: academic coaching, mentorship, wellness resources, digital tools, and real-time data tracking. Predictive analytics flag when he’s struggling, and someone reaches out before small challenges become crises. He builds skills, networks, and confidence.

By the time Phenyo graduates, on time, he’s not just another number in the system. He’s a thriving young professional, ready to contribute meaningfully to the economy. Through ElevatEd360’s employment partners, he’s placed in a role that matches his degree and passion. His first salary changes his life and his family’s. His success becomes a ripple of transformation, touching his community and inspiring the next generation.

Now imagine this not just for Phenyo, but for 90% of all students in South Africa.

That’s Imagine90.

It’s more than a number — it’s a movement.

A movement powered by collaboration, technology, and human care.

A future where every student — no matter their background — has a fair chance to succeed.

Phenyo’s story is proof that when systems align, students succeed, and the nation moves forward.

Unlocking Student Potential. Strengthening Connections. Elevating Education.

Together, we can move South Africa’s student throughput from 30% to 90%.

Together, we can make the imagined, real.
